Eighteen Years of Age
(Translated by Tapos Chandra Kabiraj)
The unbearable age of eighteen
This age grants courage to raise heads up high,
Eighteen years of age invites young minds to often engage
In so many forms of rebellious activities.
This age knows no fear
Always trying to break boundaries situated both far and near,
No time to bow down to others during this time-
Nor does this age utter a cry.
This is the age which understands the significance of bloodshed
At the age of eighteen treads ahead with the agility of steam engines,
Due to zero worries when it comes to casualties
This age permits the soul to swear allegiance in terms of doing anything along with everything.
Eighteen years of age terrifies
Brings unbearable agony in the hearts of young souls,
Souls are at their sharpest and fiercest during this time
So many advices are to needed to be heard.
The eighteenth year is resilient
Always stirring up storms wherever it tends to go,
Makes it all the more difficult to control and to contain the storm
This stage of life obliterates countless lives.
And also has to face limitless devastating blows
These attacks come one after another and forms mountains,
This age becomes dark thanks to millions of sighs that disappoints minds
This age trembles the heart with merciless pain.
But still the age of eighteen roars with victory,
The age of eighteen thrives throughout all disasters and storms,
Eighteen is no stranger in times of marching forward during times of danger
This age brings in the new.
Nobody is fearful and cowardly at the age of eighteen
And never backs out on the chosen path,
Age of eighteen encourages many things but indecisiveness-
May our land be blessed with more eighteens in futures to come .
